i have no life

Lawrence of Arabia (1962): i've seen more camels and sand than any man should in a lifetime. the movie ended up being like 4 hours long and could have been cut back to like one and a half. the main character's personality is so confusing to follow. i guess i could see how it could win best picture, but not over to kill a mockingbird. the ending was awful and the story confusing. this was the movie that i struggled to get through over the course of a few days and was falling asleep through, but i made it. you get the idea though. don't see it.

Sleepers (1996): another movie that should have been cut down by like an hour. they tried to desperately make this a huge crime saga. the movie focused so much on when they were kids, that by the time it gets to the main actors of the movie, you could care less about them. in fact, brad, deniro, hoffman, and bacon, who all got the main billing, were hardly in the movie. the 4 kids should be up there instead, but big names sell i guess. its just too drawn out. don't see it. well, see it if you like to watch little boys getting sodomized, but other than that, its not worth it.

The Apartment (1960): this turned out being a decent movie. you never realize that such taboo subjects were being shown in movies during this time frame (see the movie to know what i'm talking about). hard to believe they got away with such things. i'm sitting here trying to think of complaints, but don't have too many. its a goofy story with some goofy characters, but its all cute at the same time. watch for the great medical practices of the 1960s. that alone makes it worth seeing. if you want more detail about the movie, just think of jack lemmon as today's loser character of ben stiller, and shirley maclaine, well she's not really anyone today, but she looks hot in the movie so just go with me. see it. this is a movie they could completely do a remake on, so you could just wait till then.

so i'm in all these ethic classes at school now, but turns out i think i'm one of the most unethical people i know. i cheat, lie, steal, break the law, and who knows what else to get ahead. i can't believe i even have friends right now because i'm pretty terrible. one of the teachers keeps asking the question if ethics can be taught or not. if it can't be taught, i'm not sure why these classes are required. the sad part is that i'm sure this will carry into my hopeful law profession. my only saving grace is that i feel very strongly when it comes to principle. i don't know. its weird cuz i would only be unethical to people that deserve it or when i'm the only one effected by it. let me hear a shoutout for victimless crimes!!!

was supposed to go snowboarding today but bailed out cuz i got to bed so late. i'm so freaking sad about it now and regret not going. oh well. time for more movies.
